Comedian Eric Omondi’s younger brother, Fred Omondi will be laid to rest on Saturday, June 29, at their rural home in Sega, Siaya County, MGAHAWANI.com has exclusively learnt.

Initial reports had indicated that late Fred Omondi would be buried on Saturday, June 22.

However, sources intimate to the Omondis family hissed the burial will not take place on June 22, but June 29.

The correct date for Fred’s burial was first disclosed by Churchill Show comedian Akuku Danger in an exclusive phone interview with this publication.

“The burial will not be on Saturday, June 22, but Saturday, June 29, at his home in Sega, Siaya County.” Akuku told MGAHAWANI.com.

This writer has learnt an autopsy to determine the exact cause of Fred’s death was conducted on Monday, June 17.

Reports reaching this newsdesk indicate that Fred’s family and his fans had been waiting for the postmortem report so that they can complete the necessary medical and legal procedures before according him a befitting send-off.

Earlier reports disclosed that a memorial service for Fred Omondi would be held on Friday, June 21, at the Citam Valley Road Church.

This publication understands that the service is aimed at giving Fred’s family, friends and fans to pay their last respects and celebrate the deceased.

After the memorial service, the deceased body will be flown to Sega for the final rites.

As earlier reported by MGAHAWANI.com, Fred Omondi died on the morning of Saturday, June 15, following a motorcycle accident.

Police reports indicated that Fred was on a motorcycle when it collided head-on with a bus neat the Caltex Petrol Station, along Kangundo road.

According to the report, the late comedian was a passenger on a boda boda that collided with a mini-bus traveling in the wrong direction.

News of Fred’s sudden demise shook the entire entertainment industry with countless celebrities, fans and Kenyans taking to different social media platforms to mourn him.

A section of netizens, including Fred’s close friends such as comedian 2Mbili cried foul following his demise.

2Mbili specifically insinuated there was more to Fred’s death than just a motorcycle accident.

2Mbili raised a myriad of questions on a number of things leading up to the accident that claimed the life of comedian Eric Omondi’s younger brother.

The content creator claimed the accident report by police has left many with even more questions than answers.

Speaking during an interview with a local Online media, the content creator noted that there is more to Fred Omondi’s death than meets the eye.

He disclosed that late Fred has always been cautious with his life and could not easily die in a motorcycle accident.

“There is a lot of things that don’t make sense. Fred loved and cared for himself very much and could never risk being ridden on a motorcycle in the wee hours of the morning.” 2Mbili said.

“The story we are getting is not adding up, wewe umeshawahi ona Fred na motorbike?” He added.

He wrapped up by stating that people who loved Fred will be following up on the issue to find out what really led to the comedian’s death.
