A section of Kenyans on social media have picked issue with President William Ruto and his government after it emerged that he picked countless content creators to accompany him to the United States for his first ever official state visit.
Countless netizens could not keep calm after learning several content creators accompanied the President to the US on the Kenyan government’s expense.
MGAHAWANI.com understands Ruto and a delegation of over 30 people recently jetted to the US for his state visit.

The President’s entourage included a number of politicians such as Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Defence CS Aden Duale and Health CS Susan Nakhumicha.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and her Machakos counterpart Wavinya Ndeti were also part of Ruto’s maiden state visit to the US.
Others include National Security Advisor Monica Juma, Council of Governors Chair Anne Waiguru, Senate Majority leader Aaron Cheruiyot and National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah just to mention but a few.
Well, Ruto’s visit sparked debates online with countless people wondering why he had to spend a lot of money on the visit, flying people who were not pivotal for it to the US.
Others who accompanied the President to the US include content creator Eddie Butita, singer Vivian and other creatives.

Well, while netizens felt it was okay for the President to fly to the US with politicians, many felt it was unnecessary for him to include content creators to his US trip.
A multitude of Kenyans on social media picked a bone to chew with the Kenyan government for spending top dollar on people who were not supposed to accompany the President on his state visit.
According to countless netizens, there was nothing important the contents creators were supposed to do for him and the country a whole with their presence in the land of milk and honey.
Thousands of Kenyans strongly condemned the inclusion of content creators in the trip.
However, a cross section of social media users lauded the President and his government for at least considering creatives and youths in his engagements with powerful international partners.
Quite a number of netizens gushed over Butita, Vivian and creatives on end for being included in the process of trying to improve the Kenyan entertainment industry.
A throng of Kenyans, especially youths lauded Ruto and his government for finally including youths, especially creatives in his mission to take Kenya to greater heights.

It should be noted that Ruto, First Lady Rachael and their entourage are in the US for a three-day state visit.
President Ruto is expected to make a strong case for Kenya as Africa’s top and most strategic investment destination during his visit in the US.
He is expected to convince multinational companies in the US to take advantage of the irresistible trade and investment options in Kenya that range from ICT, e-mobility, agriculture, infrastructure, housing, renewable energy and carbon markets.
